School Buildings

Lessons and other activities take place in a number of school buildings, situated on the historic Cathedral Close.

The Chantry in Palace Gate is the main school building and the postal address of the School.  The Headmaster's study and administration offices are situated here, as is the dining hall, gym, library, Radford Room (used for parents' association meetings etc), playground and some classrooms.

The Chapman building is part of the old Deanery building and houses the Art, Pottery and Technology Centre as well as having resident staff accommodation. In the courtyard of Chapman is the Coach House where French and Food Technology are taught.

The Evans building on Kalendarhay houses the rooms used by Years 5 and 6 as well as the Science Laboratory and the Geography room.

Hall House, 15 Cathedral Close, is the home of the Pre-Preparatory Department, and also the Year 3 classroom and School Uniform Shop. It is at the Southernhay end of the Cathedral Close. The School's Deputy Headmaster, has his private accommodation within Hall House.

Kalendar Hall is the home of our music and drama departments and fronts onto South Street.  Most school drama productions are performed in the main hall of this building.  The majority of individual instrumental lessons take place in Kalendar Hall.

It is also available for hire at certain times to parents and outside organisations.  Please contact Jackie Lapraik, school office for more information and details of availability and charges.

Kalendarhay is a continuation of the Old Deanery building, at the South Street end, which provides private accommodation for several members of our resident staff.
