Fees

The Cathedral School offers the following awards against the fees:

Choristerships

Choristerships are most usually given to boys and girls who will be able to complete at least three full years, and preferably four, following their probationary period and up to the end of Year 8. Choristerships for boys are worth 25% of fees and for girls 20% of fees plus tuition on one instrument. These awards may be increased, where necessary, by a further 25% subject to declaration of income. They may also be topped up via application to a number of other trusts which exist for this purpose. These additional awards are also means tested.

Governors' Bursaries

These awards may be given on entry to the school to pupils who show outstanding musical, academic or "all round" potential but whose parents are unable to afford the full school fees. Bursaries are awarded annually and are renewable. These may be awarded in each academic year group from age 7+ to 12+ and are always means tested.

Clergy Bursaries

Bursaries may be available for the sons of the clergy from the Marriott Foundation. These bursaries are always means tested.

Family Discount

Sibling discount on tuition fees of 10% of the second and subsequent child's fee is given to parents with more than one child at the School.

Early Years Grants

All rising 4 and 4 year old pupils are eligible for the Devon Early Years Grant. Younger pupils who are 3 or above may be eligible for the same grant which is postcode dependant. Any parent wishing to make enquiries about these grants should contact the Bursar, who will be happy to help.

NB. Apart from Family Discount, awards are only made in respect of children in Year 3 and above.
