Year 4 (Age 8+)

In Year 4 pupils move from Hall House to the Chantry on the other side of the Cathedral Close.  The introduction to their new environment is carefully handled and the children readily take to their new surroundings having become used to some lessons there while in Year 3.  The familiar setting of a class led by their own form teacher allows the children to settle in and gain confidence, while teaching by subject specialists is gradually increased.  A number of new pupils often join this year group.

"I like that if you are ever upset you have your friends to keep you happy and strong and everyone is very welcoming when you are new.  The teachers look after you and everyone else."  Year 4 pupil

"What I like most about ECS are the teachers because they make the lessons exciting!"  Year 4 pupil

"My greatest time is when I am part of a sports team because we go on the bus to other schools, make new friends and have fun as a team."  Year 4 pupil

"It is so friendly and nice.  In art you design lots of fun things!"  Year 4 pupil

"On my taster day I was a bit nervous but everyone looked after me.  Towards the end of the day I was having great fun and I had got to know everyone." Year 4 pupil
