The School Day
The normal pattern of the School day, for day pupils, is
8.00 am Optional Breakfast Club available for pupils in the Nursery to Year 4 inclusive
8.30 am Hall House classroom (Nursery - Year 3) / Chantry playground (Years 4-8) supervision begins
8.40 am The School day begins for pupils in Years 3-8
8.50 am The School day begins at Hall House for pupils in the Nursery - Year 2
3.15 pm The School day ends for the Nursery - Year 2 (After-School-Care available until 5.30 pm
3.45 pm The School day ends for Years 3-8 (After-School-Care available until 6.00 pm)
- Each school day begins with an assembly, which takes place in the Cathedral, the Chapter House or Hall House for all or part of the school. Assemblies are led by the Chaplain, the Headmaster, the Deputy Headmaster, the Head of Pre-prep and other School staff and Cathedral clergy.
- Choristers follow the same timetable as all other pupils, though their programme is extended before and after school to include practices and services.
- There are a number of after-school clubs which additionally take place - from Judo to Drama, French to fencing, there is something for everyone!
- Some school activities take place at the weekend. These will include such things as optional Dartmoor walks as well as a number of sports fixtures and inter-school tournaments. Full details are provided in the School Calendar (Lent 2013)
