We currently have the following vacancy

PART-TIME TEACHER OF

GAMES & ANOTHER SUBJECT

(MATERNITY COVER)

Start date: 19th June 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter (a September 2017 start will be considered)

Exeter Cathedral School requires a first-rate individual to join the team as a part-time teacher (maternity cover): to offer Games and an additional subject (ideally Geography, although other subjects will be considered).

Founded in the 12th century as a chorister school, ECS now educates some 275 pupils, including the boy and girl choristers of Exeter Cathedral. The School has a celebrated track record of 13+ scholarships (academic, art, drama, music, sport, all-rounder) to leading senior schools: in 2017, a total of 33 awards were made to the 23-strong Year 8 cohort.  The School is located right in the heart of the city and in the lee of the Cathedral, and benefits from making use of some of the absolutely outstanding sports facilities at Exeter University and Exeter Cricket Club.  With the arrival of a former Hockey International as our Director of Sport in January 2017, this is an exciting time to be joining the Games Department.

The successful candidate is likely to be a hard-working and highly-motivated individual who has the energy and vision to be a role model for pupils and staff.  The ability to drive a school minibus is likely to be a distinct advantage.

For further details and an application pack please contact the School’s Bursar and Head of HR Mrs Sharon Groves: s.groves@exetercs.org.  The deadline for applications is 12 noon on Monday 5th June. Interviews for shortlisted candidates are likely to take place later that same week or during the week beginning 11th June.

Exeter Cathedral School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all employees to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
